Quite Interesting
We believe that everything in the Universe is interesting if looked at closely enough, for long enough, or from the right angle. See here for a fuller explanation of QI Theory.
QI Fact of the Day
Top hats have been fashionable for almost 200 years, but when the first one was worn in 1797 by James Heatherington, he was immediately arrested and fined 50 pounds for behaving in a manner 'calculated to frighten timid people'.
QI Quote of the Day
“Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new.”

QI Commercials
QI also uses the philosophy that everything is interesting if it is looked at in the right way to make commercials. Find out more about our work at www.qicommercials.com

QI Series A-G
Whole editions of older series of the TV show can be seen regularly on Dave or in short clips on YouTube. Series A-C can be purchased in DVD format.
The QI Qibble Blog
The trusty QI researchers or Elves have been known to make the odd small mistake. Our viewers and readers are never shy about letting us know when that happens, and we are always pleased to learn more so we've decided to collect together the most common 'quibbles', along with official responses from the elves responsible, in our Qibble Blog.
The QI Talk Forum
If you're bursting with questions - or answers - come in and join the QI Talk Forum where you can chat with like-minded people. You'll be quite interested to discover that the exact opposite of what is generally believed is often closer to the truth.
The QI Shop
If you want QI in three dimensions, there is a rather diverting range of books, games, DVDs and gewgaws available in our online Shop.
QI in the Telegraph
QI has a regular column in the weekend Telegraph. You can find a mix of letter-based facts and short essays that show 'the scenic route' through everything that's quite interesting.
QI on Wikipedia
Those with a fanatical interest in the minutiae of QI might enjoy the lengthy Wiki article about us, which is a labour of love by somebody and seems to be pretty accurate.
THE 2011 QI ADVENT CALENDAR WINNERS
This year we created our very own online advent calendar. We collected together a selection of photographs taken by our industrious elves as they travelled across the country and carefully revealed one a day in the run up to Christmas.
Since it was the season for giving, we decided to make things extra interesting by running a competition. The competition was a great success with over 700 entries. Despite our attempts at being cryptic, the vast majority of them got all the questions right, so we had to find an extra big hat to draw the names out of.
So congratulations to Lydia Knyvett of Chitterne, Wiltshire! You have won a bag full of QI goodies.
An honourable mention must also go to our three runners up: Chas Gilbert of Belper, Mark Banham of Norfolk, and M Lucking of Bromley who have all won their very own regulation elf hat.
If you didn't find the advent calendar in time and are wondering what all the fuss is about, take a look now and see how you would've done. Each photo comes with a Quite Interesting clue to the location, and there's a link on the calendar page to all the answers.
QI TOPS THE RATINGS DOWN UNDER
Following on from the success of the QI Live stage show earlier this year, QI continues to go from strength to strength in Australia. According to overnight reports from OzTam, QI dominated the TV schedules being beaten only by the ever popular news and current affairs programmes, making it the highest rating non-news show on Australian TV.
Take that "Big Bang Theory" and "World's Strictest Parents"!
We at QI Towers would like to thank all of our Australian fans for making the show such a success down under, and to the ABC network for bringing the show to a clearly appreciative audience. We're off to make plans for our next step towards global domination as soon as we can stop Commander Lloyd from cackling maniacally.
THE SECOND BOOK OF GENERAL IGNORANCE (US EDITION)
Here at QI Towers, we won't be satisfied until the message of QI has spread right around the world. To that end, we recently released a US edition of our best-selling Second Book of General Ignorance.
So far it seems to be going down pretty well. Certainly Craig Wilson of USA Today liked it a lot. You can read his full review of the book by following this link.
Any US citizens who are keen to find out what all the fuss is about can find the book on Amazon, though we are duty bound to point out that other booksellers are available.
Any UK completists who just have to have the US edition to sit on their bookshelves alongside the UK version can find a copy on Amazon UK.
QI THE BOARD GAME
In our efforts to ensure the philosophy of QI extends to every imaginable medium, we present QI: The Board Game.
This high quality board game is designed for anyone who loves the show. Now you can take part in the challenging questions, while also having fun with family or friends. For example, Winnie-the-Pooh was named after a teddy bear owned by Christopher Robin Milne. What was the origin of the name Winnie? - Winnipeg, Winston Churchill or The Wind in the Willows?
Be careful with your answer. Get it right and you move forward but a wrong answer could mean the dreaded klaxon and you'll be going backwards!
This game is for 3 - 6 players and suitable for ages 12 years to Adult. It's available from all good board game shops, such as Amazon.
