I imagine this is already known and discussed, but I didn’t see any particular thread about it.

If one counts all guests appearances on Series G as a done deal, there appear to be 57 different guests. Apart from Capt Davies, Jo Brand appears more often than anyone else, while 41 guests appear in just one episode each.

Not counting the Elephants compilation but counting the unbroadcast pilot episode, appearance totals seem to be:
    24     Jo Brand
    21     Phill Jupitus, Sean Lock
    20     Bill Bailey, Rich Hall
    15     Jimmy Carr
    14     Clive Anderson
    11     David Mitchell
    10     Rob Brydon
9     Dara Ó Briain, John Sessions
      7     Jeremy Clarkson
      5     Andy Hamilton
      4     Jeremy Hardy, Vic Reeves
3     Ronni Ancona, Danny Baker, Arthur Smith, Linda Smith, Mark Steel, Johnny Vegas
2     Jack Dee, Hugh Dennis, Howard Goodall, Charlie Higson, Phil Kay, Rory McGrath, Doon Mackichan, Liza Tarbuck, Sandi Toksvig
1     Alexander Armstrong, Helen Atkinson‐Wood, Pam Ayres, Gyles Brandreth, Rory Bremner, Marcus Brigstocke, Julian Clary, Jackie Clune, Barry Cryer, Reginald D. Hunter, Richard E. Grant, Graeme Garden, Mark Gatiss, Dave Gorman, Kit Hesketh‐Harvey, John Hodgman, Barry Humphries, Eddie Izzard, Dom Joly, Hugh Laurie, Josie Lawrence, Fred MacAulay, Roger McGough, Lee Mack, Ben Miller, Julia Morris, Neil Mullarkey, Graham Norton, Andy Parsons, Sue Perkins, Jan Ravens, Anneka Rice, Jonathan Ross, Peter Serafinowicz, John Sergeant, Jessica Stevenson, Meera Syal, David Tennant, Emma Thompson, Johnny Vaughan, Terry Wogan
Who can spot something interesting about those rankings?

The gaps between the numbers are all 1, 2, 3 or 5. All Fibonacci numbers.

That is quite scary

The thing I find most interesting is the women. I think it is great that during a period when panel games are accused of sexism that the most regular guest is a woman.

However, what I found really interesting is the gap between the most regular woman to appear, and the second most regular - Jo is top with 24, but in joint second are Ronni Ancona and the late Linda Smith with just 3 each.

Here is the new up-to-date list for Series H. 64 people have now been panellists.

25 Jo Brand
24 Phill Jupitus and Sean Lock.
22 Bill Bailey and Rich Hall.
17 Jimmy Carr
14 Clive Anderson and David Mitchell.
13 Rob Brydon
11 Dara O'Briain
9 John Sessions
8 Jeremy Clarkson
6 Andy Hamilton
5 Danny Baker and Sandi Toksvig.
4 Ronni Ancona, Jack Dee, Jeremy Hardy, Vic Reeves and Johnny Vegas.
3 Ross Noble, Arthur Smith, Linda Smith and Mark Steel.
2 Gyles Brandreth, Hugh Dennis, Howard Goodall, Charlie Higson, Eddie Izzard, Phil Kay, Fred MacAulay, Lee Mack, Doon Mackichan, Rory McGrath, Graham Norton, Sue Perkins and Liza Tarbuck.
1 Chris Addison, Alexander Armstrong, Helen Atkinson-Wood, Pam Ayres, Clare Balding, Rory Bremner, Marcus Brigstocke, Julian Clary, Jackie Clune, Barry Cryer, Graeme Garden, Mark Gatiss, Dave Gorman, Richard E. Grant, John Hodgman, Barry Humphries, Reginald D. Hunter, Jessica Hynes (nee Stephenson), Dom Joly, Hugh Laurie, Josie Lawrence, John Lloyd, Roger McGough, Ben Miller, Julia Morris, Neil Mullarkey, Andy Parsons, Daniel Radcliffe, Jan Ravens, Anneka Rice, Jonathan Ross, Peter Serafinowicz, John Sergeant, Meera Syal, David Tennant, Emma Thompson, Johnny Vaughan, Ruby Wax, Robert Webb, Sir Terry Wogan.

Interesting facts to come out of this:

* Jo Brand is still top of the list despite only appearing once during the series. She was meant to appear twice but had to cancel one appearance in Series H due to illness.
* Clive Anderson did not appear at all in Series H.
* Ross Noble is the highest new entry, appearing three times during the new series.
* After Jo, the next highest woman on the list is Sandi Toksvig. Jo has appeared 20 times more than Sandi.

I'm surprised at the number of appearances by John Sessions. Not because I don't like him, I just don't recall him appearing that many times.

I could have sworn Tony Slattery had appeared, I know he should have, maybe his illness has precluded this kind of performance.

He hasn't yet, but he definitely should.

Hay, don't go assuming. I'm bisexual for starters. I'm looking at Stephen and Alan as well. ^_^

Your list has 73 names in it!

(Nerd time: Procrastinating about doing a blog post, I decided to list all the contestants from memory and got to 60, came here to check, and found that I had missed 13 people.)
